BIKING

Bring your own bike and enjoy beautiful riverfront scenery! Trails surrounding Coloma Resort range from country-road explorations to steep trail rides.

Pedal through the quaint little town of Coloma, explore Coloma Resort’s gated campground or take on more challenging terrain just a short drive away. Biking is a great family activity or can be enjoyed solo.

For more experienced bikers, the Cronan Ranch system of trails is a popular mountain biking destination for a more advanced skill level. The American River Confluence in Auburn is also approximately 12 miles away and encompasses a wide variety of trails and challenge levels.

HIKING

Experience a beautifully-preserved area with a well-maintained system of trails. Many trails are within walking distance from your campsite to the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park including Dutch Creek Falls, where you can check out the poppies in the spring and the beautiful vistas of the Coloma Valley from Monroe Ridge trail. Cronan Ranch is a short drive away, with 5 miles of riverfront trails. There are many difficulty levels and this trail is frequented by hikers, bikers, and horses.

Coloma is a great place to hike with dogs and kids too!

Hiking with Kids Tip: Check out the Dinosaur Hunt trail in the Dave Moore Nature Area, off of HWY 49 just a short drive from the campground! The mile loop trail is super easy, has an outhouse, picnic tables, river access and dinosaur figurines hidden throughout the trail. Don't forget to bring your own dinosaurs to hide for others to hunt too!
